Saab 99 GL 5sp. 1983, Special Edition nr 47 [RIP]. This was my first Saab, bought it in 2000 and sold in 2004. It was sold for parts unfortunately, but unevitably. too much rot in essential parts. i couldnt keep pace with it. This was a 1983 Special Edition, a limited and numbered series of 150 99GL 5 speed 2-doors upgraded with 900 Turbo add-ons. 75 in red and 75 in white. the extras included a Turbo interior, 3 spoke Turbo wheel, US-Turbo rims, a front spoiler, bronze tinted glass [the only 99's delivered with that color.. dont break the windshield!!!], rear side windowns that can open [in the latter 1980-84 yeasr that wasn't an option anymore on 99's]. All in all, a very nice luxury upgrade on a model that was in thefinal and stripped down phase of its life.
